Roadside Retail

The rise of roadside retail began with the fast food chains — McDonalds has been opening drive thru restaurants since 1985 — but in recent years the offerings at service stations have increased enormously to include higher-end retail outlets such as Waitrose, M&S Simply Food and Costa. Property prominence and accessibility is now a fundamental requirement for many retailers and an increasing and wider ranging number of occupiers see roadside as an addition, or an alternative, to the high street.

Trade Counter & Leisure

Trade counter units have recently evolved out of the industrial sector defined primarily by planning use. A trade counter property combines traditional warehousing and distribution use with ancillary offices with ancillary trade counter use providing for trade and retail sales. Self storage units, have also joined the evolution.
